01Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, registering for, or using the HackCulture platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, along with our Privacy Policy and Code of Conduct.

If you are registering on behalf of a company, educational institution, or other entity, you represent and warrant that you possess the full authority to bind that entity to these terms.

02User Accounts and Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old or possess legal parental/guardian consent where permitted by local law to create an account and participate in HackCulture competitions.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to immediately notify HackCulture of any unauthorized account access.

03Hackathon Participation & Fair Play

All submissions must represent original work created during the designated hackathon sprint window, unless the specific contest guidelines explicitly permit pre-existing libraries or frameworks.

Participants found utilizing unauthorized automated bots, plagiarized code bases, or engaging in collusion with judges will be immediately disqualified from the competition and forfeit any potential prize eligibility.

04Intellectual Property Ownership

Unless explicitly stated otherwise in the individual hackathon rules agreed upon during registration, participants retain ownership of their original code and inventions.

In certain corporate innovation programs and hiring challenges, specific IP transfer terms or enterprise licenses may apply as clearly stated in that event's participation agreement.

By submitting a project, participants grant HackCulture and the event sponsor a non-exclusive license to feature project demos, screenshots, and team summaries for promotional, educational, and showcase purposes.

05Prize Distribution and Taxes

Prizes are disbursed in accordance with each program's specific timeline and payment schedule following identity and tax verification.

Winners are solely responsible for all applicable federal, state, local, or national taxes and reporting requirements associated with prize awards.

06Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HackCulture and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your platform participation.
