Privacy Policy
At HackCulture, we take your privacy and personal data seriously. This Privacy Policy outlines what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a participant, developer, or enterprise partner.
01Information We Collect
HackCulture collects information that you provide directly to us when you register for an account, participate in a hackathon, submit project repositories, or inquire about enterprise hosting. This includes your name, email address, phone number, professional background, GitHub profile, resume, and project submission materials.
When you access our platform, we may automatically collect standard log information including your IP address, browser type, device identifiers, referring URLs, and interaction timestamps.
02How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to administer hackathons, verify participant identity and eligibility, evaluate code submissions, communicate competition updates, and award prizes.
For hiring challenges, your resume and submission data are shared with the verified enterprise hiring sponsor you applied to. We will never sell your personal contact information to third-party ad networks.
We may aggregate anonymized demographic and performance data to publish ecosystem benchmarks and continuously improve platform performance.
03Data Sharing and Third Parties
We only share personal information with third-party service providers (such as cloud hosting, authentication providers, and email delivery platforms) under strict data protection agreements.
In enterprise-sponsored hackathons, project repositories and team information submitted during the contest are made accessible to designated competition judges, sponsors, and mentors according to the specific event rules.
04Data Security and Retention
HackCulture implements industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
We retain personal data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide our services, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.
05Your Data Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (such as GDPR in the EU or applicable data privacy laws), you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data stored by HackCulture.
To exercise your privacy rights, request an export of your information, or request account closure, please email support@hackculture.io.
